Polar vortex - Canada / USA

Anyone seen the forecasts for north America in the coming days? There is some serious cold weather about the push down from the polar regions.

The models are consistent with this other than the duration, some those forecasted 850mb and 2m temperatures are brutally low.

One to watch as this will likely impact the weather in Europe with the position and motion of the jetstream coming out of North America.

Sub -40c temperatures won't be very rare in southern Canada and parts of the US. Damn that's cold!!

Potential for a big snow maker in the north eastern States and Atlantic Canada early next week, and look at those widespread blues mid-week, coast to coast, north to south :O
