Maine / Maritimes winter storm
#1
Due to my connections with Atlantic Canada, I tend to keep an eye on weather events there.

Been watching this potential mixed event for the last few days.  There's still some uncertainly over the tracking which results in which locations tap into the colder weather and get snow, and where gets mixed precipitation and rain.

Most of the models are in agreement which is showing snow for most of Maine and New Brunswick with mixed precipitation along the coast and mixed and/or rain through Nova Scotia.

If the WPC is to be believed, there is potential close to 30cm of snow for parts of Maine, New Brunswick and PEI later tonight and tomorrow (local time of course). I'm hedging on those accumulation being lower looking at the synops.

A few accumulation reports from New Brunswick, Canada:

Moncton: 15cm
Saint John: 18cm
Fredericton: 12cm
Miramichi: 22cm ???? (doubtful)

It's all I could find from the OBS, not a major snow event but a messy one none the less.

Now the true cold digs in behind the system!!
