An upper level trough is nicely situated over the Bay of Biscay, there are some key ingredients coming together that could produce some large hail and slow moving heavy precipitation storm cells over Catalonia and into Southern France.
In weather patterns, with an upper level trough, nearly always the most active weather is produced to the east of the trough and this is no exception.
I've marked a 300mb upper map showing the trough and where the most active potential will likely be.
There is already an active squall moving northeast clearing Zaragoza and a number of cells just over the border into France. Some very active sferics being detected in the region this morning.
