Uzbekistan record heat

Yikes!!

This one escaped me but there is some serious heat over Uzbekistan at the moment. Bukhar is currently at 44.6C, but I would be confident some of the desert regions to the south went to 45C+ which would break all time records for May.

The attached chart clearly shows the hot plume extending south from the Arabian regions.

Shows up nicely on the GFS 2M temperature anomaly. it's more or less the darkest spot on the global chart!!

Unusually, the humidity is very high in the region too, not a good combination.
