After the recent storm for parts of Italy over the weekend, not good news.

Another low is beginning to develop in the Adriatic sea and likely to bring some wet weather to parts of Italy, with southern Greece and Crete particularly seeing some heavy rain for a time. Fortunately the low gets caught up in the strong upper level trough currently over the region, so the unsettled weather transits quickly toward the Black sea region by mid-week.

The southern flank will also produce some strong winds through the south of Italy, south of Greece and Crete, particularly later tonight and tomorrow morning.

Just a heads up!

Heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms pushing through Greece now, especialy in the south. A cluster of showers and thunderstorms following the low pressure through Italy toward Greece.

The area of 100km/h+ winds currently in the southern Adriatic slowly moving toward the south of Greece and island of Crete. Could see gusts approaching 120km/h.

Central barometric pressure is currently 989mb, quite a deep low for the neighbourhood!

Parts of southern Greece and Crete being buffeted by wind gusts of 130 km/h. Going to try and find some observations from the region.
