Western Australia's current heatwave is breaking records, with parts of the state almost reaching temperatures of 50 degrees. The remote town of Paraburdoo recorded a minimum temperature of 35.8 degrees yesterday morning, the highest ever recorded in the state, according to Weatherzone. It was also the fifth-highest minimum temperature ever seen in Australia.

(Weatherzone) The high minimum temperature was followed by a day of extreme heat in Western Australia, with the mercury reaching 49 degrees at Onslow Airport in the state's north coast. Whilst it was not the hottest temperature ever in the state or in Australia, it meant Onslow Airport was officially the hottest place on earth yesterday. In fact, Onslow was over 100 degrees hotter than the coldest place on earth yesterday.
