Netherlands temperature difference

Quite a range of temperature across the Netherlands. The far north has tapped into some of the continental cold from eastern Europe.

For such a small country, the gradient is impressive. Currently -3c in the north, two hours drive south and we have 8c.

These simple things are a reason I wish to learn more about the weather. For me, this is exciting to study.

Quite interesting as it's a shallow layer of sub zero temperatures near the surface. Looking at the radiosonde/skew t yesterday, it was a prime setup for ice accretion / freezing rain which may have surprised many in the region!
