I would not be surprised if several countries in northwestern Europe announce drought conditions soon. The UK and the Netherlands have both declared spring 2025 to be the driest on record (so far), and we still have two more weeks of spring to go before we officially hit summer.

Here in the Netherlands (south Holland) the grass is readily turning yellow. Looking at some stats, since March 1st the largest recorded rainfall total until May 10th has been a mediocre 36mm in the Netherlands.

Rainfall and temperature anomalies for March 2025, show the picture nicely and I imagine updated maps will show the same situation. Note how the pattern change that has brought the dry and warm weather for northwestern Europe has also dumped record rainfall in Iberia, Morocco and Algeria during March and early April.
